The Josephine County Republican Central Committee has officially endorsed Simon Hare for County Treasurer, citing his proven record of fiscal responsibility and his deep roots in the community. "Simon is exactly the kind of principled, experienced leader our county needs managing its finances," said committee chair.

More than 120 residents turned out for Simon Hare's campaign kickoff at the Grants Pass Community Center. Hare outlined his three core priorities: transparent financial reporting, eliminating wasteful spending, and restoring public trust in county government. "Every dollar the county spends belongs to the taxpayers," Hare told the crowd.
Simon Hare issued a formal statement calling for an independent audit of the Josephine County Treasurer's office, pointing to years of opaque reporting and unresolved discrepancies in public financial records. "Josephine County taxpayers deserve to know exactly where their money is going. On day one, I will open the books," said Hare.
Simon Hare will be at the Josephine County Fair from August 10-14, 2026. Stop by the campaign booth to meet Simon, pick up a yard sign, and learn more about his vision for honest, accountable county government. Volunteers are welcome to help staff the booth.
Simon Hare officially filed his candidacy for Josephine County Treasurer with the Josephine County Elections Office. Hare, a former County Commissioner and Oregon State University graduate, brings over a decade of public service experience to the race. "I'm running because Josephine County deserves a treasurer who puts taxpayers first," said Hare.
